As many New York residents are aware, the Scaffold Law in this state is very controversial even though it benefits construction workers who have been injured due to a fall at a construction site. The law states that contractors, property owners and even municipalities are liable for all damages due to a "gravity-related" site accident.

Memorial Mass For Fallen New York City Construction Workers

Construction workers, who are members of the Building Trade Unions, gathered in attendance at annual memorial Mass held at Saint Patrick's Cathedral on Thursday April 28, 2016. The Mass was held to Honor the 17 fallen victims of construction accidents that occurred in New York City in 2015. The figure is derived from records maintained by the office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It represents an increase from the eight fatalities in 2014.
